Rebuilding physical structures and houses is one thing and rebuilding lives and bonds is another and the state government recognizes this, he added.
Emphasizing that the state government has to be and is a “neutral entity”, Biren said the government believes in equality and justice for all.
“The government cannot take sides in a conflict of the nature that Manipur is passing through today. It is with belief in these principles enshrined in the Constitution of India that we will leave no stone unturned in bringing back peace and normalcy to the State,” he promised.
He said R-Day has a greater significance for “our brothers and sisters braving the winter in relief camps and other temporary shelters. The cold of the night must not drive them….”
At Haryana job fair for Israel, many from other states say turned back
Ramesh, a carpenter from UP's Ballia, was unable to participate in the job fair in Rohtak for employment in Israel because he did not have a Parivar Pehchan Patra, the family ID issued by the Haryana government. Hostel inmates covered windows with cardboard and chart papers. Rickshaw pullers sought refuge in basements. Road vendors and shopkeepers burned sawdust, leaves, banners, and posters. Students sealed openings, used body warmth, and burned notes. Shopkeepers and vendors lit bonfires.
