NEW DELHI: Police said on Wednesday that five IEDs, weighing 21.5 kg in total, were found in Imphal East, Manipur.
The bombs were discovered during a joint operation by the Spear Corps and state police at Maphitel Ridge, near Monglham, on Tuesday.
A detection dog was instrumental in locating the explosive devices.
The recovered items included two IEDs weighing 5.5 kg each, one 4 kg IED, two 3.5 kg IEDs, and a 25 m Cordtex wire, according to police officials.
In a separate incident in Kangpokpi district, security personnel confiscated a submachine gun (SMG) with a magazine and an improvised mortar, known locally as 'pumpi', from Phaileng.
