YouTuber assaulted by mob over objectionable comments in Hyderabad, five women arrested

Hyderabad: A YouTuber was brutally assaulted by a mob in Rajendranagar for allegedly making objectionable comments. Following the attack, police arrested five women, who were later sent to judicial remand.

A mob of around 45 people, mostly women, stormed the content creator’s residence, confronting him over the content he allegedly posted on his channel. The situation quickly escalated into an argument, leading to physical assault. The content creator was punched repeatedly, his shirt was torn, and he was paraded and garlanded with footwear, even in the presence of the police.

When cops arrived at the scene, they attempted to escort the man out of his multi-storey apartment, but the protesters attacked him again and obstructed the police from rescuing him.

Later in the day, police said that they had identified all the 45 individuals involved in the attack and arrested five women, who were sent to judicial remand. The YouTuber was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack, noting that the man had allegedly made critical comments against a Union minister.
