HYDERABAD: A man was arrrested by Saroornagar police on Sunday for allegedly injuring a person by firing a pellet using his air gun. The incident took place at Venkateshara Colony.
The accused, Gogikar Balveer, 25, allegedly wanted to kill the victim, Renuka Anand, since the latter objected to the accused's love proposal to his daughter.
In the past, the accused was counselled by Anand in the presence of his parents. The accused's parents assured that he would not trouble Anand's 23-year-old daughter. The accused and the victim's daughter are childhood friends.
Bearing a grudge against Anand, the accused went to the residence of the victim carrying the air gun. Upon seeing Anand in the parking lot, he opened fire. One pellet hit the victim's eye. Later, Balveer fled from the spot on his bike.
Based on the complaint given by the victim, the accused was traced. Police recovered an air rifle and an air gun from him. "As per the complainant, in the past, the accused expressed his intention to eliminate Anand for refusing to accept his proposal to marry Anand's daughter," Saroornagar police said. The accused was sent to judicial remand.
