Yellow Sea doesn't hold much water
HYDERABAD: If the TDP indeed manages to get 30 lakh people to the city to attend its Vijayabheri at Parade Grounds on Sunday, then a majority of the crowd will have to stay far away from the venue.
Parade Grounds can accommodate a little over 4 lakh people if the entire area is packed with people like sardines.
As per the TDP''s estimates, the venue has a little over 8 lakh sq ft of which nearly 80,000 sq ft has been set aside for women, about 70,000 sq ft for party leaders, and 31,000 sq ft for VIPs and media.
1x1 polls

In the space left, even if each person in the crowd stood shoulder to shoulder, the ground can take not more than four lakh people.
Another three lakh can cram themselves onto the flyover and the roads around the Parade Grounds. That would leave 23 lakh of the mobilised mass unaccounted for.
Where will they go? Will they come at all? While trains are to bring about 28,600 people (if the TDP men follow rules and do not overcrowd), the 7,850 buses and lorries for which the police are geared up to provide parking space in and around the city can carry only about 4,71,000 people if they are packed to capacity.
So how will the other 25 lakh people come? If they were to come in cars, vans and taxis, and even if they were packed with 20 people each, then the city will have to cope with a mind boggling 1,25,000 four-wheelers on Sunday.
