Yellamma temple to get annadana bldg

Hyderabad: Union ministry of tourism has approved development work to be undertaken at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam, Balkampet, in city under the Prashad scheme. "At a cost of 4.2 Cr, a 3-storey annadana building with modern amenities to accommodate over 200 people at a time will be developed through this project," Union minister of culture and tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat posted on X. Union minister for coals and mines and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy took to his X account to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union minister for approving the development project. The temple attracts a large number of visitors, particularly on Sundays and Tuesdays. It is renowned for hosting the annual Bonalu Jathara festival, a popular event celebrated in Hyderabad. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yellamma, often referred to as the ‘mother of the universe.' Another name used is Jagadamba, who is considered synonymous with Goddess Renuka.
