Parul Pal has always believed in making resolutions. But this time she is being more realistic. The 34-year-old Marredpally resident has declared that she is once again making resolutions only to “accidentally’’ trash them the next day. Coming up with a ‘more or less’ resolution is Padmaja Rao of Kukatpally who has decided to grumble less in 2010. And she promises to eat less too.

But senior manager of an automobile major, Hemant Gangaraju is most focused.

However, many denizens have trooped into the ‘realistic’ resolution brigade and say sticking to past resolutions would be their resolution this year. “I have realised that there are too many resolutions pending over the last few years that need to be completed so why make a new one,’’ says IT professional Nikhil Pelapkar. Divya Rao, a manager in an FMCG firm, says she plans to “start loving animals’’ and this doesn’t mean that she is quitting her job. “I will stop eating meat,’’ she says.
And there are those who make resolutions year after year to quit smoking and drinking and lose weight but never keep them. This time some of them have a strong resolve. Lecturer Tali Jamir has decided to give his health a top priority this year. “I am not a disciplined person when it comes to health and to keep fit is something that figures in my resolution list every year. But this year I plan to stick to it,’’ he says. tnn
