hyderabad: ‘pratibimb’, an eight-week comprehensive workshop on theatre, television and films will be jointly organised by sutradhar school of acting and rangadhara theatre group from april 15 in hyderabad. according to sutradhar casting agency private ltd director vinay varma, the workshop to be conducted six days a week from 8 am to 11 am, will lay emphasis on movements, gestures, voice and speech exercises, postures, characterisation and mime.
he said the participants would also be introduced to ‘raja yoga’ and meditation. though the purpose of the workshop would be to foster local acting talent to cater to the needs of film producers, the focus of the workshop would be on theatre, varma said. the resource persons for the workshop include university of hyderabad, head of the department of theatre arts prof bhaskar shewalker, vinay varma who had played a role in the hindi movie 16 december and senior theatre artistes from rangadhara, the oldest theatre group in the city. on the conclusion of the workshop, the participants will stage a play and the resource persons will act as catalysts. the fee for the workshop would be rs 7,500 which includes fee of a mini-portfolio and a small clipping of the individual and group performance. shewalker said many trained actors from the institute had lent their voice for 16 december and acted in telugu film nee thodu kaavali and serials like shanti nivasam. those interested can contact sutradhar agency on telephone number 3226485 or on mobile phone 98480 52541 or email: abhinay@hd2.dot.net.in.
