HYDERABAD: During a drunken brawl on how to spend ₹2 lakh money obtained from a chit fund scheme, a woman killed her husband at their house at Kothur on the city outskirts on Tuesday night.
The deceased was P Narsimhulu, 50, a speech impaired labourer from Panjerla village in Kothur mandal. His wife Narsamma is a vegetable vendor.
A few days ago, the couple got ₹2 lakh cash from their chit fund investment.
While Narsimhulu wanted to buy a bike with the money, his wife wanted to buy gold. On Tuesday night, both of them consumed alcohol and an argument broke out on how to spend the money.
During the argument, Narsimhulu assaulted Narsamma and she also attacked him with a stone and a pestle. As Narsimhulu fell unconscious with multiple injuries, Narsamma and her relatives shifted him to a local hospital in the night. "He was declared brought dead at a local hospital," Kothur inspector K Shankar Reddy said.
Narsamma has been taken into custody.
