Hyderabad: A woman and her daughter died while her husband and four of their relatives escaped with injuries after their car crashed into a truck that switched lanes without any caution (switch on the indicators) at Raigir on National Highway-163 (Warangal-Hyderabad highway) on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Bhukya Anusha, 28, and her seven-year-old daughter Chaitra. Her husband Santosh, who was behind the wheel, his sister Bhavani, her husband Ravi, and two other children sustained injuries, the Rachakonda police said.
According to police, the families, hailing from Kesamudram of Mahabubabad district, were residing in the city. Santosh and Ravi were working for different private firms. To celebrate Sankranti, they all went to their native place in Santosh's car. On Thursday morning, they were returning to the city when the incident happened.
Around 6:30am, when they were near the outskirts of Raigir village under the Bhongir rural police station limits of the Rachakonda commissionerate, a truck moving ahead of them took a sudden turn to the left into a roadside fuel station.
