WARANGAL: A woman police constable died by suicide at her residence in Warangal on Sunday allegedly over dowry harassment by her husband
Sridhar. The constable, A Mounika, was working in Mahabubabad district.

Sai Prasanna, Mattewada, sub-inspector (SI), said: "Unable to take the harassment by her husband, she ended her life. Her husband informed the police after he found Mounika hanging.
Police sent her body for postmortem to MGM hospital."
Prasanna said, "Mounika's father Rajender lodged a complaint with Mattewada police station. A case has been registered under 498, 304-B (dowry death) and IPC sections. Her husband Sridhar has not been taken into custody."
Mounika's father said that the couple got married seven years ago and a dowry of 5 lakh was given. However, soon after marriage Sridhar began harassing Mounika for dowry.
