HYDERABAD: With no communication from the ministry of external affairs (MEA) or any other government agency about the whereabouts of the two abducted Sirte University professors from Hyderabad, their family members met Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday and submitted a memorandum requesting assistance.

“We have not heard from the external affairs ministry since the news of the abduction broke out. The least they could have done is send a representative to our house and apprise us about the con dition of my husband and his colleague T Gopi Krishna," Sridevi told TOI.
Meanwhile, in her memo randum addressed to Dattatreya and Union minister Venkaiah Naidu, T Kalyani, wife of assistant professor T Gopi Krishna, narrated the plight of her family members. “Since the abduction of my husband, my in-laws and other family members have been eagerly waiting for positive news. They have neither been eating nor sleeping properly. We earnestly urge you to work towards securing their safe release," the 35-year-old Kalyani wrote.
Before leaving for Delhi, Dattatreya assured the two women that he would take up the issue with his cabinet colleagues on Monday.
