HYDERABAD: Amidst the ongoing drive against encroachments on lakes and govt land parcels by HYDRA, AIMIM floor leader in the assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, on Monday criticised all those advocating demolition of an educational institution building accommodating 1,000 poor students, which was established by him in Bandlaguda.

Without naming HYDRA, he said: "If needed, you can pump bullets into me and stab me again, but please do not undo the good work done by me. Hundreds of poor students, including girls, are studying in my educational institutions. I would suggest you take me on by establishing educational institutions for the poor," he said at different programme in the Old City on Sunday and Monday.

BJP had claimed that Fathima School of Akbaruddin Owaisi in Bandlaguda was in the FTL of a water body. However, the MIM leader neither mentioned BJP nor any other party in his speeches.

He also made it clear that his plea not to undo his good work should not be mistaken for weakness. "I have always faced my enemies head-on and will continue to do so," he said.

While it is not confirmed whether Owaisi's school building is constructed in FTL or encroached land, HYDRA had recently reclaimed 12 acres of Bum-Rukn-Ud-Dowla lake in Rajendranagar. The illegal structures demolished in the lake's full tank level belonged to several persons, reportedly including AIMIM MLA Mohammed Mubeen and MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig.

However, HYDRA has not said anything about Akbaruddin Owaisi's properties so far.
