Wife's suspicion did in paedophile

HYDERABAD: The paedophile, Akram Khan, 47, who is behind bars for exploiting a four-year-old girl, was exposed by his wife whose nagging suspicion that he was having an extra-marital affair with one of his tenants forced her to spy on him. To her shock, she discovered that he was more than sex-crazed.
To nail him and gather enough evidence, she had arranged the CCTV, but discovered more skeletons in his cupboard, police said.The minor girl used to frequent the culprit's house along with one of her family members.Taking advan tage of the acquain tance, he started abusing the girl whenever she visited him in the hope of getting a chocolate. The victim's family petitioned police that Akram Khan's wife should also be arrested as they felt that she had complete information about the abuse of the child and she bore a grudge against their family.
"We cannot make the woman an accused as we found that she was not an accomplice. In fact, she is the main witness as it was her initiative to fix the CCTV, which gave us video evidence," a senior police officer said.
Cops said Khan's wife took help of her family members to fix CCTV to a window at her estranged husband's house. The culprit had been abusing the victim for past six months. A technician had alerted police about Akram Khan's sexcapades while analysing the CCTV footage. Sadly, victim's parents were unaware of the abuse.
