HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member and BJP OBC Morcha national president K Laxman on Thursday said his party believes in the pulse of the people and certainly not in the exit polls.

Addressing a press conference, Laxman said: “We have full confidence that people have voted for BJP in Karnataka and we will come back to power. The exit polls may say something but we are very sure about regaining power in Karnataka.”

Talking about recent arrests of suspects connected with Hizb ut-Tahrir in Hyderabad, he said: “These activities do not take place in Gujarat or Uttar Pradesh. People should realise that Hyderabad has become a hub for anti-national elements. There are a large number of Rohingya in the city, who are being patronised by some leaders. This is a big threat to the country’s safety.”

He said that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has lost focus on governance in the state.

“When farmers in the state suffered huge crop losses, he has no time to come to their rescue. The government can allocate 350 crore annually towards crop insurance,” he said.
