HYDERABAD: HMWSSB appointed 150 ward assistants in order to enhance governance and address water supply and sewerage issues in Greater Hyderabad. The decision has been taken on the lines of
GHMC to address civic issues, so that the people can visit their nearest ward office and seek redressal for a wide array of grievances.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) managing director M Dana Kishore instructed the newly appointed ward assistants to resolve water and sewage related issues with top priority.
He was speaking at a one-day training programme for ward assistants at Khairatabad on Friday.
The ward assistants will start offering services from June 2, on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day. The HMWSSB chief also announced a job chart which has to be followed by all ward assistants.
The chart includes acceptance of grievances from consumers, computerising them, grievances must be brought to the notice of the manager concerned, and after resolving the grievances, the ward assistants have to inform the consumer concerned.
