The deceased were identified as Mamidi Kumaraswamy, 48, his mother Rajamma, 65, for alleged complicity and Kumaraswamy's paramour, Sujatha, 45.

Police said Mamidi Kumaraswamy was having an extramarital relationship with his neighbour Sujatha for the past few years.

On Sunday night, Mamidi's son, Karthik, caught him red-handed and in a fit of rage poured petrol on his father, Sujatha and his grandmother Rajamma , 65, and set them ablaze. All three persons were charred to death, before help arrived.

Kartik and his mother, Kousalya had parted ways and were residing at Hanamkonda for the past three years, refusing to accept Mamidi's illegal relationship.

After the incident, police arrived and thought it was a cylinder blast that killed the three persons. But they later collected clues and began to look for Karthik, who had escaped by then. DCP Venkateshwarlu visited the spot and the police later registered a case against Karthik under Section 302 of the IPC.
