Vuyyuru TD contestant vows to fulfil promises

vijayawada: "i shall complete the unfinished agenda of my late husband (former mla anne babu rao) if elected from the vuyyuru assembly constituency," promised anne vijayalaxmi, the telugu desam party candidate contesting the september 20 bye-election. besides, she also promised to secure housesite pattas to the weaker sections of the society, construct individual toilets to the villagers and improve the condition of the roads.these promises were made at the election campaign meetings she addressed at agnipadu and saipuram villages in the vuyyuru segment on saturday. minister for agriculture, vadde sobhanadreeswara rao, expressed confidence that the tdp would romp home with a comfortable margin from vuyyuru. he particularly pointed out that the muslims, who constitute about seven per cent of the total electorate, would solidly support the ruling party. curiously, the sulking local leader, chalasani venkateswara rao alias pandu also took part in the campaign indicating that he was backing the candidature of vijayalaxmi. last time pandu secured about 33,000 votes while babu rao scraped through with 34,000 votes.
