HYDERABAD: The probe into two major bribery cases against two top politicians in the
Telangana was kept in cold storage by the police. Right to Information Act reply from the police department revealed that there was little progress in the cases of election bribery against Maganti Muralimohan actor and former MP of TDP and TRS MP

Muralimohan was named as accused in Rs 2 crore cash seizure case in
Madhapur
and where as Nama Nageswara Rao was linked seizure of Rs 1.17 lakh caught in
Khammam district
and which was supposed to be distributed to the voters. Police filed a chargesheet in
Khammam
case but didn’t mention about the involvement of the TRS MP.
Forum for good governance M Padmanabha Reddy had written to Chief Electoral Officer to take action in the case.
“On April 9, 2019, flying squad team of Khammam parliamentary constituency found one G Hatiram distributing money to voters on behalf of TRS candidate Nama Nageswara Rao. The team arrested the accused and recovered from him Rs 1.17 lakh cash, TRS party rose colour towels, 29 model ballot papers and dummy EVMs. During the enquiry, Hatiram confessed that the office of Nama Nageswara Rao gave him money for distribution to voters. FIR has been registred by CI of police of Khanapuram Haweli and chargesheet has been filed against the lone accused without mention of contesting candidate who gave money,” alleged Padmanabha Reddy.
He added that in many districts where money was seized the contesting candidate was made accused number 2. “Surprisingly in Khammam case, there is no mention about the candidate."
In another case, Madhapur SI of police while checking vehicle near Hi-tech city railway station on April 3 found two persons N Srihari, A Pandari, private employees of Jayabheir office carrying Rs 2 crore.
“The accused revealed that they are private employees of Jayabheri Enclave and they were given two crore rupees with direction to go to Rajahmundry by train and hand over the amount to Murali Mohan. The money was for distribution in the upcoming elections,” said Padmanabha Reddy.
“Since three months, there is no progress in the case. Still, the case is shown as under investigation,” said Padmanabha Reddy.
