Villagers assault Kothaguda forest rangers, one critical

Two forest rangers, along with a 30-member staff, were injured in an attack by villagers, late on Friday night. Villagers manhandled Kothaguda forest rangers, Chalapathi Rao and Lakshminarayana.

WARANGAL: Two forest rangers, along with a 30-member staff, were injured in an attack by villagers, late on Friday night. Villagers manhandled Kothaguda forest rangers, Chalapathi Rao and Lakshminarayana.
Chalapathi Rao was severely injured after he fell down on the floor. He was rushed to Kothaguda government hospital, where he underwent treatment. During the clash, the 30-member staff tried to stop the villagers but were injured in the process.
According to the police, the people of Gangaram village have been ploughing in a forest area, located in the Gangamma Gutta area of Gangaram mandal.

When the forest rangers received information, both rushed with their staff and tried to stop the villagers. However, the enraged villagers started arguing with the rangers and attacked them with sticks and other arms.
Chalapathi Rao tried convincing them and even cautioned about the land being under the possession of the forest department. As per government instructions, the department has plough and raise the nursery.
However, villagers did not to listen and ignored the caution. Instead, they began attacking the forest rangers and their staff.
Gangaram police rushed to the spot and controlled the mob. A case has been registered against the mob.
