HYDERABAD: In what could be a fresh storm brewing within the Telangana BJP, actress-turned-politician Vijayashanti on Thursday said she was left out by the state leadership. She said she has not been assigned any task so far by the leadership and that there’s no clarity on her role yet. Despite being cold-shouldered, Vijayashanti said she has been maintaining a dignified silence all this while. That Vijayashanti is miffed could be gauged by her absence at BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s ongoing Praja Sangrama Yatra. She is believed to have expressed her displeasure with the national leadership.
Speaking to newsmen after attending Sardar Sarvai Papanna’s birth anniversary at the party office here, she took a dig at the party leadership saying that if seniors like her were not assigned specific roles, the party will suffer. “There is no problem with the central leadership. The state leadership should bring everyone along for the greater good of the party. Some leaders in the state are insecure about my presence,” she said.
