HYDERABAD: The much-anticipated verdict in the 2012 cases of hate speech allegedly made by AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, which was scheduled on Tuesday, was deferred by the special sessions court for MLA & MP court to Wednesday.

Akbaruddin reached the Nampally court in the afternoon and appeared before the judge. Immediately after taking up the two cases, the judge deferred the judgment.

Akbaruddin is accused of making provocative speeches at Nirmal in erstwhile

Adilabad

and

Nizamabad

district in 2012 wherein he allegedly promoted enmity between two groups. After hearing the arguments of both prosecution and accused, the judge, a few days ago, had announced that the verdict will be pronounced in both the cases on Tuesday.

When the trial was taken up in Nizamabad hate speech case, 41 witnesses were examined by the Crime Investigation Department. Similarly, in the case registered by Nirmal police, 33 witnesses were examined.
