Vansh, Nikhat emerge champs

Hyderabad: Vansh Singhal of AVSC and Nikhat Banu of RBI won the men and women’s singles titles as well as the mixed doubles title in the first Little Flower School, Uppal Telangana State Ranking table tennis tournament, which concluded at LFS, Uppal on Sunday.In the men’s final, Vansh faced a stiff challenge before emerging victorious against Ali Mohammed of AVSC 11-3, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11,11-9 while Nikhat Banu (RBI) registered an easy 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, 11-9 win over Monica Manohar (GSM) to be crowned as women’s champion. Both Vansh and Nikhat combined to emerge mixed doubles winners as the duo beat N Bhaavitha and D R Chandrachud 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 to walk away with the title honours.In the age group competitions, Jatin Dev of LFHSTTC and Satya Aspathi of GSM scored a double each. Jatin won the boys’ U-19 and U-17 titles while Satya emerged winner in the girls’ U-19 and U-15 categories.
