Emmar probe: Plea to include Naidu'sregime rejected
A two judge bench of the AP High Court comprising Chief Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and Justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Monday dismissed at the admission stage a writ petition seeking to extend the scope of the investigation into the Emmar property deal back to the stage of the acquisition of the lands and to include former chief minister and TDP supremeo Chandrababu Naidu.
Bheem Reddy Ella Reddy, a farmer from Warangal district, contended that the element of corruption relates back from when the lands were acquired and hence the investigation ordered by the high court must include the said period.
Dismissing the petition, the bench pointed out that the acquisition was not challenged and there is no reason for the petitioner to seek an enquiry at this belated stage.
