HYDERABAD: The Karnataka police on Wednesday ruled out the involvement of Mohammed Usman alias Mohammed Fahim, who was detained at Bangalore airport on Monday night, in the twin blasts that rocked Mumbai on Aug. 25.
Bangalore police commissioner S Mariswamy said investigations so far had led the police to rule out his involvement in the blasts. Fahim was produced before a magistrate for travelling under a fake passport.
He would be taken to Hyderabad to probe his antecedents, Mariswamy said.
In Hyderabad, Usman’s mother Kaneez Fatima told police she had lost contact with her son seven years ago and did not know where he lived. Fatima, who lives with her four other sons lives at 18/13/132/4, Noor-e-Shah Nagar, Bandlaguda, said Usman left home seven years ago and nothing was heard from him since then.
