Upset with wife, man drives car into lake with three kids near Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Locals near Imam Guda Lake at Abdullapurmet on the outskirts of Hyderabad were shocked to see a speeding Brezza plunge into the lake on Wednesday morning. They also realized that along with the driver, there were children in the car.

They immediately rushed to the rescue of the occupants and jumped into the lake. Using tire tubes, ropes, and other available materials, they reached the car, pulled out a man and three children, including a girl, from the car, and brought them to the bank safely.

Only later did the locals realize that the man had driven his car into the lake in a suicide pact, allegedly upset over issues with his wife.

Abdullapurmet SHO N Anji Reddy said the family belongs to BN Reddy Nagar and they had some issues between the couple, due to which he took this decision. They were handed over to Meerpet police station to be handed over to their family.
