Goddess Durga's idol vandalised in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Unknown persons partially vandalized the idol of godess at a Durga pandal in Nampally on Friday early hours.

Local Begum Bazar police said that the puja material which was kept near by the idol was ransacked by unknown accused. Apart from that a portion of the idol was also found broke.

The idol was set up at a pandal, inside Exhibition Grounds, Nampally. The organisers of the pandal alerted police. The police team reach the spot and found that it was a deliberate act done by unknown persons.

"At the pandal, there was a watchman who was there till 3 am. When he went to attend nature call at the near by college, the unknown accused gained entry and committed the offence," assistant commissioner of police A Chandrasekar told TOI.

After registering a case, police started the probe and verifying the near by CCTV footages.
