Undertrial's bid to escape fails
An undertrial who tried to grab a rifle from his police escort and attempted to flee, was caught on Saturday.
Erukali Nadipi Naganna of Yemmiganur in the district was in Pathikonda sub-jail for the last one week and was being shifted to the Kadapa central jail on the request of the sub-jail superintendent.
The magistrate granted the request and while he was being shifted at the Pathikonda bus stand on Saturday, Erukali tried to grab the rifle from an armed reserve police constable.
Last week, Naganna was arrested when he beat up a boy and tried to kill the SI who came to arrest him.
