Hyderabad: In a suspected case of drunken driving, two persons, who were travelling on a bike, died after they rammed their two-wheeler into the median at ECIL Crossroads in the wee hours of Sunday.
Kushaiguda police said that Naresh and Kranthi, both 23 years, were residents of Moula Ali.
Around 4.40am, the two reached ECIL X roads on the bike. However, the rider lost control over the bike and hit the divider and fell off the vehicle. They died on the spot. They were suspectedly returning home, but en route the accident took place.
“We have taken the blood samples to ascertain whether it was a case of drunken driving as there was suspicion,’’ Kushaiguda inspector B Praveen Kumar told TOI.
Police said that one of the deceased was a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student, while the other a private employee. A case was registered under Section 304-A (Negligence causing death) of the IPC.
