As the firm ran into losses recently and became defunct, the duo contacted several people, including Tollywood producer K V Rao, to dispose of ephedrine illegally.
“In two transactions, KV Rao bought 100 kilos of ephedrine from Ibrahim and Chandra Sekhar. Of it, about 75 kilos was seized by police,” Madhapur inspector B Srinivasa Reddy said.
Police are now trying to nab Tarun and Yogesh of Mumbai, who purchased the narcotic substance from them earlier. While speaking to the media, Ibrahim claimed that some influential people were behind the racket and they were made scapegoats by police. They were produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
