Two killed in hit-and-run on NH-44 while heading to exam centre in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Two persons, including an Intermediate student, died in a road accident after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shamshabad early on Thursday.The victims were identified as Vikki Singh, 22, son of Shivangal Singh, a native of Bihar who had settled in Kothur of Rangareddy district, and Suraj, 17, Intermediate first year student from Kothur, who was originally from Uttar Pradesh. According to police, they were travelling from Kothur to Shamshabad on a motorcycle. Vikki was riding the bike while Suraj was seated pillion. "Vikki was to drop Suraj at an exam centre in Shamshabad when the accident occurred," Shamshabad inspector K Narender Reddy said. The accident occurred around 7.40 am on NH-44 near Madanapalli old thanda village. Police said an unidentified vehicle rammed the motorcycle from behind."Both victims were thrown onto the road and were run over by the vehicle. They died on the spot due to multiple injuries. The accused fled the scene without stopping. We are verifying the CCTV camera feed near the crime scene to identify the accused," the inspector said. Shamshabad police registered a case under section 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) of the BNS.
