Two drug peddlers arrested

The SR Nagar police have arrested two African cocaine peddlers from the city and seized 8.5 grams of the narcotic substance from their possession on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: The SR Nagar police have arrested two African cocaine peddlers from the city and seized 8.5 grams of the narcotic substance from their possession on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the SR Nagar police nabbed Mwinyi Kassim Mwaka alias Poyz of Tanzania and Shihab-El-Din alias Mohammed of Sudan from B K Guda where they were waiting to supply the contraband to a customer on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Shihab came to India in 2003 on a student visa and completed B Sc from Jahnavi College in Narayanaguda.
Later, he did MBA from Manipal University and during that time Shihab fell in love with a girl, Anne Mary Francis of Aurangabad and they got married in 2010 and started living at Sainikpuri.
After the marriage, Shihab was finding it difficult to run the family and to make some quick money he decided to get into cocaine peddling business. During this time, he came in contact with Kassim, who arrived in the city on a tourist visa in January.
Kassim promised to procure cocaine through his contacts in Mumbai and the duo began supplying the narcotic at a price of Rs 4,000 per gram to a small group of customers since last three months.
As the police was busy with the Sakala Janula Samme, the duo began expanding their customer base and in this process came under the scrutiny of a special team.
After tracking the duo for over a week, police nabbed them at B K Guda and seized 10 pouches of the contraband hidden in match boxes from their possession on Wednesday.

Police said that the duo have no contacts with the previously arrested cocaine peddlers and it was a relatively a new module. asWe have to verify their passports and then check with the concerned embassies to know further details about their stay in India. We will also be analyzing their phone call details to find out their customers,a? S R Nagar inspector P Krishna Murthy said.
Cases were slapped against the duo under the NDPS Act and they were remanded in judicial custody.
