Jeedimetla police said that Sandeep, 21, and his friend Kranti Kumar, 20, both pursuing Degree second year, died in the road accident.

Late on Saturday evening, Sandeep and four others decided to join their friend, who invited them to participate in Christmas celebrations, at a local church. They went on different two-wheelers. After the celebrations, the friends decided to return to their homes. Sandeep and Kranti were travelling on a bike, while the others were on different motorcycles.

Around 1.30am, Kranti lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the road divider. Kranti died on the spot, while Sandeep suffered grievous injuries to the rear side of his head and eye. His two other friends, who were coming on a different bike, immediately shifted Sandeep to a local hospital in a 108 ambulance. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Sandeep, a native of Mahabubabad district, was studying in a local college along with Kranti. Police suspect it was a case of speeding. A case was registered under Section 304-a (negligence) of the IPC.
