hyderabad: andhra pradesh state cultural council chairman dr c narayana reddy has established ‘srimathi susheela narayan reddy trust’ for the promotion of literary activity among women writers. the trust was set up in memory of his wife. addressing a press conference here on monday, andhra pradesh state cultural council chairman and jnanpith awardee dr c narayana reddy said the trust would encourage new women writers in telugu, and their selected literary works will be awarded.
he said the trust would select four unpublished works in telugu from among upcoming women writers in the form of short stories, essays, poetry and other genres this year for awards. each award will carry a cash prize of rs 15,000. he said he would contribute rs 10 lakh for the trust. interested women writers could send three copies of the poem or short story to the trust along with an undertaking that the work has not been published so far. the unpublished work should have been compiled after 1991, in not less than 100 pages and not more than 200 pages. neatly typed or dtp copies of the manuscript could be sent to srimathi susheela narayan reddy trust, plot no 48, film nagar, jubilee hills, hyderabad - 33. the last date for the receipt of the works will be june 15.
