HYDERABAD: TRS working president KT Rama Rao, on Wednesday, described CM K Chandrasekhar Rao as ‘monagadu’ (hero), who can achieve anything. Addressing party workers in Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, he said in the December 2018 polls, six TRS MLAs and one MLA from MIM had got elected from the constituencies under the LS seat. “The TRS win from Secunderabad LS is for sure,” he said. The seat is currently held by the BJP’s Bandaru Dattatreya.
KTR said PM Narenda Modi had neglected the interests of
Telangana despite many representations. He said though the government had sought 100 acres of defence land in Secunderabad for city development, including constructing two skyways, the land was not given, though 500 acres in Shamirpet was offered in exchange. Also, another eight acre in Secunderabad belonging to the railways was not given when the then state government had planned to construct two-bedroom houses for the poor.
KTR, reacting to statements by BJP leaders, said, “They are asking what KCR can do with 16 MPs and are saying LS elections are a fight between Rahul Gandhi and Narenda Modi. If KCR could achieve Telangana with only two LS members, he can do much more with 16 MPs.”
On Laxman saying that he would take political sanyas if BJP didn’t come to power at the Centre on its own, KTR said BJP leaders have always made such statements. “In the assembly elections, BJP lost deposits in 103 out of 119 seats,” he said.
