HYDERABAD:

Former minister Patnam Mahendar Reddy

, who had lost in the assembly polls in December 2018, has been nominated as TRS candidate from Ranga Reddy for the MLC polls. Mahendar Reddy (67,553 votes) had lost to Congress candidate Pilot Rohit Reddy (70,428) by a small margin (2,875) to wrest the Tandur assembly seat.

In a meeting with some senior party leaders on Sunday, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided on three candidates for the MLC elections. Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy from Warangal and Thera Chinnappa Reddy would be fielded from

Nalgonda

. The polling for the Local Authorities Constituency seats would be held on May 31 and the last date for filing nominations is May 14.
