TRS expels founder member
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Thursday expelled Karimnagar Zilla Parishad (ZP) chairman K V Rajeshwar Rao from the party for ''anti-party and anti-Telangana'' activities. Rao was a founder member of the TRS and unsuccessfully contested the last Assembly elections from Metpally in Karimnagar district.
Announcing the expulsion at a press conference, minister B Laxmikantha Rao and party leaders K Yadagiri Reddy, D L Satish Mahajan and C Satyanarayana Reddy said the TRS took serious note of Rajeshwar Rao''s activities and asked him to step down from the zilla parishad chairman''s post.

Hours after the expulsion, TRS activists attacked and ransacked his house in Karimnagar, damaging the furniture and telephones.
As per rules, if Rajeshwar Rao does not resign the TRS will have to move a no-confidence motion to unseat him.
TRS legislators Koppula Eeshwar, Eetela Rajender and Lakshmikanth Rao also stepped up the heat on the ZP chief to resign from his post immediately.
Rao''s relations with the party leadership have been strained ever since he wrested a nomination for the Metpally election. Party insiders say TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao ensured the defeat of all the four Velama candidates fielded by the TRS — including Rajeshwar Rao — to keep the path clear for his nephew Harish Rao''s induction into the cabinet. Since the Metpally defeat, Rajeshwar Rao has been fretting and fuming against the party leadership.
His ties with Chandrashekhar Rao collapsed and they were not even on talking terms, it is learnt.
Rajeshwar Rao is likely to join the Congress party. He met senior Congress leaders including G Venkataswamy and endowments minister M Satyanarayana Rao and is reportedly waiting for a green signal.
