Top Maoist ‘held’ in city

Hyderabad: Senior Communist Party of India (Maoist) leader Sanjay Deepak Rao, 60, was reportedly nabbed by the Telangana police in the city on Wednesday. Rao, who is the Western Ghats Special Zonal committee chief, has several cases pending against him in different states. He is a native of Maharashtra.Telangana police brass, however, were tight-lipped about the development on Thursday. Based on a tif-off about his presence in Hyderabad, the 60-year-old Maoist was nabbed.

NIA conducts raids across CG in CPI (Maoist) case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in Telangana and Chhattisgarh related to a case involving the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist). The raids were conducted in connection with the recovery of explosive materials, drones, and a Lathe machine. The NIA had registered the case after seizing these items from three individuals in June. The cache was intended for manufacturing countrymade arms to be used against security forces in Naxal-affected areas. The NIA raided eight locations and seized digital devices and incriminating documents. The accused were providing raw materials to the CPI (Maoist) for their anti-India activities.

PSIEC top brass comes calling to city

The top officials of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) visited Ludhiana to understand the issues faced by industries ahead of a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. The discussions included the poor condition of roads and infrastructure in Focal Points and the high cost of industrial plots in Ludhiana. The Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) requested the officials to implement a Plug and Play scheme similar to the one in Bihar.
