Interestingly, the actress came to the Abkari Bhavan, much prior to the schedule questioning time of 10 am amid much fanfare. Before Charmi reached the venue, her bouncers were already at the Excise office.

The actress came to the office in a Toyota Innova vehicle, as media was eagerly waiting for the actress, as she is the first high profile female from the Telugu film industry to face the questioning in a drug case.

Ever since she disembarked from her car, there was complete jostling and at one point of time she had to squeeze through before entering the building premises, to appear before the SIT. Though there were some rumoured allegations of misconduct on part of one of the security guard, senior Excise officials vehemently denied it. Charmi’s Advocate P Vishnuvardhana Reddy when contacted in the evening said that he was unaware of such development. "I am yet to speak to my client Charmi. However, as far as I know, there is nothing of that sought,’’ the Advocate said.

It was clear that she had some discomfort in that jostling as she was very closely surrounded by security men and women; her bouncers who were making effort to avoid the media personnel. Charmi, who was clad in blue coloured dress, made namaste gesture to the media before entering the building. The actress looked very composed.

As High Court had already directed the investigating agency that the questioning in case of Charmi should not happen beyond 5 pm, Charmi was let off by the investigating agency 15 minutes before the schedule time and the actress left the premises by not talking to media, unlike few actors who appeared before SIT, and she weaved her hand and left in the vehicle. On the direction of High Court, she was questioned by three female officers- BL Renuka, V Jaya Lakshmi, Ch Shravani- and Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent K Pavan Kumar. As expected, the actress refused to give her blood, hair, nail samples.
