HYDERABAD: A young technician of Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) fell off the Gachibowli Biodiversity flyover on Sunday evening and died when the bike he was riding crashed into the flyover railing. Madhu died on the spot while his friend Machagiri, 24, who was pillion-riding, suffered serious injuries.
Police suspect the accident took place due to speeding. Madhu was suspected to be in an inebriated condition when he crashed the bike into the railing, police said. Madhu along with Giri was heading to IKEA from Raidurgam.
Such was the impact of the crash that after hitting the railing of the flyover, the bike fell on the second flyover beneath it. A native of Siddipet, Madhu was residing in a PG hostel at Gachibowli. The condition of Machagiri, who hails from Bhuvanagiri district, is critical.
