Three scribes arrested for extortion

WARANGAL: The police on Tuesday arrested three journalists and a hotel owner at Jangaon town in Warangal district on the charges of extortion and abetment to attempt to suicide by a trader.
According to police, the accused journalists J Ramesh, H Madhava Rao and Sunchu Srikanth, and hotel owner More Bhaskar threatened local trader Gajji Krishnamurthy to give them Rs 10 lakh.Unable to bear the threats, Krishnamurthy attempted suicide by consuming hair dye at his residence on April 30.
The local chamber of commerce lodged a complaint with the police against the journalists and the hotel owner. The police registered a case, and after investigation, arrested the accused.
