Three fires break out across Hyderabad; no casualties
Hyderabad: Three separate fire accidents occurred in different parts of the city on Friday afternoon. No casualties were reported.
The first incident occurred on the second floor of a five-storey apartment building in Ameerpet. The fire originated in the dubbing studio of a firm called Agni Techno Script Creations, after a suspected blast in an air conditioner compressor around 3:30 pm. According to officials, flames quickly spread inside the studio, and a 25-year-old man, who was working inside, was trapped.
Five DRF teams swung into action to rescue the man and prevent the blaze from spreading further. While the DRF teams rescued the man, fire personnel acted swiftly to prevent the fire from reaching the upper floors. It took an hour to contain the fire.
The second fire was reported from a G+3 furniture warehouse in Pati village of Patancheru industrial area. According to officials, the blaze started when sparks from welding work on an iron frame ignited foam material used in the furniture-making process. The flames quickly spread to a nearby warehouse, destroying the furniture inside. Officials added that the blaze rose to considerable heights, requiring intensive efforts to contain it. “Fortunately, the three-storey (G+3) warehouse was surrounded by a compound wall, which helped prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings,” an official said. Fire engines from Kukatpally and Madhapur assisted in dousing the flames in around half an hour. A bronto skylift from Madhapur was also deployed to contain the fire from above.
In the third incident, a fire broke out in a house at Hamali Basti in Bansilalpet. “The fire from the electric switchboard panel spread to the furniture, household electronics, and other goods, in the absence of the residents,” said a fire dept official from Musheerabad fire station.
