Thousands flock for Bathini‘fish prasadam’ a day ahead

Hyderabad: Preparations are underway for the administration of the renowned fish prasadam by members of the Bathini family, scheduled for Saturday. The event, set to commence at 11 am on June 8 at Exhibitions Grounds in Nampally, will extend until 11 am on June 9.“We have acquired over 1.5 lakh live murrels (korra meenu) from Nalgonda and Kaikalur for the distribution of fish medicine. To facilitate this, we have set up 16 counters for issuing tokens and another 32 counters for fish distribution. Patients will be charged 40 per murrel at these counters. Those who purchase the murrel will need to visit Bathina family members to receive the medicine,” Shanker Rathod, additional director of fisheries department told TOI.

The department plans to provide additional quantities of murrels based on demand. Over 350 personnel have been stationed at the venue to manage the influx, the official stated. Nearly one lakh asthma patients from various parts of the country had arrived at the exhibition grounds in Nampally by Friday evening. Extensive arrangements have been made by the district administration, police, fisheries, and other govt agencies.Simultaneously, the Bathini family conducted ‘Dhanvantari Pooja’ and ‘Satyanarayana Pooja’ at their ancestral house in Doodbowli on Friday and prepared the medicine. A total of 3.5 quintals of fish medicine, prepared with herbals, is ready for distribution.TSRTC announced the operation of over special buses from Secunderabad railway station, MGBS, JBS, ECIL X Road, and RGI Airport to the Exhibition Grounds. Enquiry centres have also been set up at railway stations and bus stops to provide directions to the venue.
