Telangana mulling ‘one state, one digital card’ for all govt schemes
HYDERABAD: The state govt will soon come out with one smart digital card for every family in the state to provide medical care services, avail ration and other welfare benefits.Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday held a review meeting on ‘one state, one digital card' with top officials of health and civil supplies departments among others at his residence in Jubilee Hills.The CM instructed the officials to submit a comprehensive report after studying the benefits as well as challenges in its implementation in Rajasthan, Haryana and Karnataka where it has already been issued. The CM emphasised that the family digital cards should help cardholders avail all welfare schemes including medical care, ration, and other state-sponsored programmes. The health profile of each family member will be included in the digital card. Officials were told to provide an option to update details of family members such as additions and deletion of names and also set up a special mechanism in the districts for monitoring the system.Chief minister Revanth Reddy asked officials to select one urban area and a village in 119 assembly constituencies and prepare action plan for issuing family digital card on pilot basis
