HYDERABAD: In a political slanging match that erupted in Telangana, the names of Bollywood’s
Mumait Khan and Tollywood’s Srireddy have been dragged into the spat by politicians who wanted to call each other names.
“The audience claps when Mumait Khan comes on the screen. Similarly, people cheer you by blowing whistles. But when you could not get elected as MLA how can you dream of becoming chief minister?” said Kaushik Reddy of Huzurabad assembly constituency.

In a dramatic turn of events, Kaushik Reddy was expelled from the Congress on Tuesday for hobnobbing with the TRS. A telephone conversation purportedly of Kaushik Reddy talking to a person went viral in which he claims that he has been promised the TRS ticket for the Huzurbabad by elections which are to be held.
Kaushik Reddy hit back at Revanth Reddy with the ‘Mumait Khan’ remark on Monday but on Tuesday, a Congress leader hit back at him with another remark dragging the name of a Telugu film actress Srireddy.
“You are talking from a script that has been given to you. How dare you compare Revanth Reddy with Mumait Khan? And why are you behaving like Srireddy?” Karimnagar district Congress kisan cell president Krishna Reddy asked. He charged Kaushik Reddy with dancing to the tunes of the ruling TRS party.
Srireddy is a Telugu actress who is known from her histrionics offscreen. In an incident a few years ago, she went to the

premises at Filmnagar threatening to strip herself to protest against some Telugu film personalities.
