HYDERABAD: Telangana has offered to host the next World Economic Forum (WEF) annual conference in Hyderabad.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday requested WEF executive chairman Klaus Schwab to hold WEF’s next annual conference in the city.
KCR met Schwab during the annual meeting of the New Champions at Dalian in China on Wednesday. The New Champions meeting, which is the foremost global business gathering in Asia, has been billed as the ‘Summer Davos.’ A release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Schwab responded positively to the proposal.
“They both had discussions for about 30 minutes. The CM briefed him on various economic and social aspects of Telangana, including significance of Hyderabad in India,” the release said.
