Fake doctor nabbed by T’gana medical council

Hyderabad: The Telangana medical council (TGMC) nabbed a fake doctor, identified as Ram, alias Vemulavalasa Rammbabu, on Saturday. "Rambabu misled people by taking basic first aid training to work in an ambulance while posing as a licensed doctor. After a three-month investigation, TGMC officials were able to track him down," said the council in an official statement.According to TGMC, Rambabu used social media to spread unscientific and unreliable health advice, particularly during emergencies. "He confused the public by recommending dangerous, unverified health practices, such as advising against treatment during emergencies and promoting unqualified drugs for ICU care," the statement added. The TGMC has urged people not to trust advice from fake doctors on social media platforms like Instagram.TGMC officials Dr Srinivas and Dr Imran Ali led the search for Rambabu, who had been deceiving and misleading the public for three months. He was nabbed at Sai Vani Hospital in Hyderabad.Dr Imran Ali confirmed that a case will be filed against the fake doctor under sections of the NMC Act 34, 54, and the TSMPR Act 22. Dr Srinivas, TGMC vice chairman, warned that many individuals falsely claiming to be doctors on social media are spreading dangerous, unscientific advice, particularly regarding chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.
