HYDERABAD: Upset with his mother for not finding a bride for him, a 21-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned her to death at their house and chopped off her feet to steal silver anklets with the support of a relative in Siddipet district on Thursday. Police arrested the duo and recovered the stolen property from their possession.
The deceased was identified as Venkatamma, 45, a widow from Banda Mylaram in Siddipet district.

Venkatamma used to eke out a living by selling plastic utensils in the nearby villages. Venkatamma's daughter was married off and she was living with her son Eashwar at their house at Banda Mylaram.
According to police, Eashwar had suffered an electric shock a few years ago and his left hand was amputated. Eashwar wanted to marry, but due to his disability, Venkatamma was not able to find a suitable bride for him, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Gajwel, M Ramesh said.
Eashwar was also upset about his mother chiding him as he kept forcing her to find a bride for him and refusing to give him money. He bore a grudge against Venkatamma and decided to eliminate her with the help of a relative Ramu.
As per their plan, around 1.30am on Thursday, Eashwar and Ramu threw a boulder on the head of Venkatamma when she was in deep sleep at her house.
"After severely injuring Venkatamma with the boulder, the duo also slit her throat with a knife and she died on the spot. Subsequently , the accused chopped off her feet and stole her silver anklets weighing about 10 tolas to make it look like an act of robbers," the ACP said.
After committing the murder, Eashwar raised an alarm in the neighbourhood claiming that his mother was found murdered when he returned home from wild boar hunting. Police were alerted about the incident. During the initial probe, police found the responses of Eashwar inconsistent. "The knives supposed to have been used by him for hunting were not at home. During sustained interrogation, he confessed to have committed the murder and we recovered the stolen silver anklets and the murder weapons at his grandmother's house nearby," the ACP said.
