Telangana: Man held for duping Jeevitha of Rs 1.22 lakh

HYDERABAD: Cybercrime sleuths arrested the man, who duped Tollywood actress Jeevitha of 1.22 lakh. Though the arrest happened a few days ago, it came to light on Saturday.

Police said a month ago, Nagendra Babu called the actress by saying that he used to work for an internet service provider. He told her he has moved to retail business where high discounts are being given on the sale of mobile phones. He said there is a 50% discount for celebrities.

Her assistant made a payment of 1.22 lakh. "They did not get the product. When they tried to call the accused, he became inaccessible," police told TOI. tnn
