Telangana Lok Sabha elections: Congress seeks help of non-TRS, non-BJP parties

HYDERABAD: The Congress is contesting all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana on its own without any alliance. AICC general secretary in charge of Telangana RC Khuntia on Sunday appealed to all the parties, except for TRS and BJP, to support Congress candidates.
The Congress also asked CM KCR to issue an explanation on BJP leader Piyush Goyal’s statement that ‘TRS and YSRCP are friends of BJP’.“This makes it clear that TRS is a B-team of BJP. So, people of Telangana should realise that a vote for TRS is a vote to BJP,” Khuntia said.
Brushing aside Goyal’s statement that Rahul Gandhi is a failure, Khuntia said Congress has roped in Priyanka Gandhi to help Rahul. “The Congress defeated BJP in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. As per various surveys, BJP is losing ground in the country and its leaders are trying to divert the attention of voters from BJP failures by targeting Rahul and Priyanka.” he said.
